HalfPrice to enter Slovakia, its fifth foreign market

The first store of the HalfPrice chain is just being built in Nitra, Slovakia. It will offer a wide range of branded products at bargain prices. The off-price concept will be launched on that market in April 2022. Slovakia will be already the fifth foreign market to which the CCC Group’s off-price chain will be brought. Eight months from its launch, HalfPrice stores operate in the Czech Republic, Austria, Croatia and Hungary, in addition to Poland. An online store was also opened in December.

HalfPrice is a modern store concept in the off-price segment, offering a wide variety of popular brands at attractive prices, including clothing, footwear, accessories, cosmetics, toys and home furnishings.

We want to be present in all CEE markets we consider of key importance to us. We are busily preparing to open a store in Nitra, which will be another HalfPrice store outside Poland. We expected that by 2025 half of the brand’s revenue will be derived on foreign markets," says Adam Holewa, President of the HalfPrice Management Board.

The first Slovak HalfPrice will be located in the PROMENADA shopping mall. “Its offering will be tailored to the preferences of Slovaks. Products on offer will be replenished on a regular basis and the collections will be available in short series. Our foreign expansion experience to date shows that we have hit a gap in the off-price concept market in the CEE region, and we have an opportunity to fill that gap,” says Joanna Czyżewska, HalfPrice’s Management Board Vice President for Sales.

In Slovakia, CCC currently has 54 offline stores. Until recently, the Group was present there through five sales channels: CCC offline stores, the eobuwie.pl online store (eobuv.sk), the online premium fashion platform MODIVO, and ccc.eu and deezee.eu online stores. “All this confirms our huge experience on the Slovak market. Considering HalfPrice’s product range, we assume that this label will perfectly complement our offer for customers in that market and we will be successful in this area as well,” says Malwina Winter, HalfPrice’s Management Board Vice President for Purchasing.

The first HalfPrice store opened outside Poland was in Hungary. In the second half of this year, HalfPrice also debuted in Austria, Croatia and the Czech Republic. There are already over 40 HalfPrice stores in CEE, and in Poland online sales have also been launched recently. The strategy of the CCC Group is to open about 250 HalfPrice stores by 2025.
