Students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź designed capsule collections for CCC

The CCC Group in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź has selected the winners of the first edition of the competition for students entitled "Design a collection for CCC". The aim of the initiative implemented with Polish art academies is to select young, best talents in the field of footwear, handbags and accessories design. Weronika Surdacka, Filip Kozak and Joanna Wilczyńska from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź have created unique capsule collections for such CCC own brands as Lasocki, Jenny Fairy and Sprandi. As part of the win, in addition to the cash prize, they also received the opportunity to complete an internship in the Creation Department of the CCC Group. After completing all editions of the competition, the company also plans to produce and sell one of the selected collections.

- When initiating this competition, we wanted its participants to pay attention not only to the form and design, but also to the functionality of the designed shoes and handbags when creating their projects. The result exceeded our wildest expectations. By analyzing the proposals of the students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, we were able to see how limitless the creativity of young artists is and how much they have to offer - says Valeriya Musina, Creative Director of the CCC Group.

- The proposals of capsule collections prepared by the participants perfectly match the personality of CCC's own brands - they respond to current trends and are consistent with the expectations of our customers. It is a great pleasure for us that we can support young Polish designers - she adds.- When initiating this competition, we wanted its participants to pay attention not only to the form and design, but also to the functionality of the designed shoes and handbags when creating their projects. The competition "Design a collection for CCC" was directed to universities with artistic faculties, and its aim was to select talented students in the field of designing footwear, handbags and accessories. The participants were asked to develop a thematic capsule collection in accordance with the leading themes indicated by the organizers: "Be Fashion - Be Trendy - Be Eco" and "Fashion in the post-pandemic world". As part of the competition, it was necessary to prepare a moodboard illustrating the idea of the concept, a design of at least five models of footwear and at least three models of bags, as well as a technical description of two models selected by the author.

In the first edition of the competition, projects by students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź were assessed. From among the submitted works, the commission selected three that stand out in particular in terms of form and design. The first place went to the collection proposal for the Sprandi brand designed by Weronika Surdacka, while the second place was awarded ex aequo - to Filip Kozak for the design of the Jenny Fairy collection and Joanna Wilczyńska for the proposal for the Lasocki brand.

- First of all, congratulations to the winners of the competition and all participants. Such competitions give young artists and designers the opportunity to test themselves in the creative process for specific brands. The challenge is not only to prepare attractive and distinctive projects that will respond to both aesthetic and functional aspects, but will also fit into the brand's philosophy. I hope that this is just the beginning of the creative cooperation of our university with the CCC Group. - says dr hab. Katarzyna Wróblewska, vice-dean of the Faculty of Design Arts and professor at the Footwear and Accessories Design Studio of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź.

For the authors of the best projects, the CCC Group has provided cash prizes, as well as apprenticeships or internships in the company. However, after the end of all editions of the competition, the company plans to produceand launch one of the selected collections for sale.
