The Power of Helping with CCC – Project Backpack – CCC launches backpack collection drive in Poland and abroad

The CCC Group is organising a used backpack collection drive under the slogan ‘The Power of Helping with CCC – Project Backpack’. All you have to do is drop off a backpack you no longer need at a CCC store of your choice from August 16th to September 11th to claim a 10% discount on the purchase of a new backpack. The collected backpacks, after disinfection and minor repairs, will go to those in need, and backpacks not suitable for donation will be safely disposed of. The project is run in all CCC offline stores in Poland and all foreign markets where the brand is present.  

‘In the run-up to the new school year, we are focusing on disadvantages families and care facilities that struggle to afford back-to-school supplies. Hence the idea to engage our customers in campaign helping children in need. All you have to do is donate a backpack you no longer need and we will make sure it puts a smile on a child’s face. ‘The Power of Helping with CCC – Project Backpack’ serves the dual purpose of helping needy children get their school supplies ready and raising our customers’ awareness of circular economy. I believe that together we can make a difference for children and the planet,’ said Agnieszka Kępińska-Sadowska, Managing Director of Corporate Communications and Sustainability at the CCC Group. 

‘The Power of Helping with CCC – Project Backpack’ runs from August 16th through September 11th. Used backpacks of any brand that are still suitable for use can be dropped off at any CCC store in Poland or abroad. All backpacks will be disinfected and, if necessary, will undergo minor repairs. The backpacks that are ready for use will go to the needy and those that cannot be reused will be safely disposed of. Customers who join the project will receive a 10% discount on the purchase of a new backpack at the store where they have dropped off their used backpack.  

Embracing circular economy 

The CCC Group strives to close the loop and promote rational use of resources. ‘The Power of Helping with CCC – Project Backpack’ is one of the numerous circularity initiatives undertaken by the organisation, which also include programmes targeting our customers. Under the ‘Give Your Shoes a Second Life’ campaign launched in 2020, CCC customers can donate used shoes of any brand, size and style in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania. The CCC Group also makes sure all the collected shoes are managed responsibly. Some of them, after disinfection and minor repairs, go to people in need – this Spring all donations went to support Ukrainian citizens – while the rest are safely disposed of. More than 60,000 pairs of shoes have been collected to date. With the programme, the CCC Group reiterates its environmental commitment and promotes conscious consumer behaviour.
